The classroom is a reflection of the technological revolution that has taken place in our lives.  Digital whiteboards have been replaced by digital chalkboards and there are more iPads in classrooms.

Are your students being negatively impacted by this technological advancement or do they benefit from it?  The Pew Research Center found that 92% of teachers believe the internet has had a significant impact on their ability access resources and content.  * These are just a few of the many ways that educational technology can improve the classroom experience.

Engagement creates a more engaged environment

Technology can be a distraction but it can also encourage active participation in the classroom. Technology can be used in the classroom to make boring subjects more interesting and enjoyable.

Incorporates Different Learning Styles

Every child in your class is unique, so it can be difficult to adapt your learning plan for every student. Technology in education can make it easier to modify your lessons. Ryan Greene, a graduate of the MS in Instructional Design & Technology, chose online learning for his degree and now uses his knowledge to integrate technology to improve his classroom.

Greene stated that kids who want to draw throughout the class can now create infographics to show their understanding and capabilities of the content.

His degree in instructional design helped him to improve his teaching style and give students a more personalized experience that will benefit them in the long-term.

Improves Collaboration

Teachers have noticed a greater number of students helping one another when using technology in the classroom. Technology-based tasks often involve other aspects. Students need to seek out help from their teachers or peers.++ In small groups, students who have more technical knowledge can help their less experienced peers.

Preparing Children for the Future

CompTIA found that nine out of ten students said using technology in the classroom would prepare them for the future. SS Teaching students skills such as PowerPoint can help you set your students up to succeed. Incorporating instructional technology into the classroom early on can prepare students for digital challenges.

Connects you with your students

Teachers can use technology to build better relationships with students and colleagues.  84% of teachers say they use the internet at minimum weekly to find engaging content for students.  * Technology can be used to enhance your teaching and learning, as well as helping you integrate technology into your lesson plans.

Technology will continue to change, so it is important to adapt your classroom to keep up with the latest developments.  Greene has some words of wisdom for fellow teachers: "Take the chance."  Try something different.  You will never know how effective a tool, or approach, until you actually try it.  Technology in the classroom encourages critical thinking.  You can just "dive in".

You may be recommended by your doctor to have screening tests done to monitor your health and detect conditions before they become serious.


Be open to communication. Meng said, "If you have any questions, ask your doctor." "Ensure you are satisfied with the information." Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about any medication or procedure.


Reduce Stress

It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.

Deep breathing

Meditation

Yoga

Massage

Exercise

Healthy eating

Talking to a friend or family member.

Develop healthy habits

You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.


Brush your teeth twice daily and floss each day.

Don't smoke.

Limit your alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1 drink per day.

Take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.

Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wear your seatbelt.

Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.


Montgomery was able to see the benefits. Montgomery says that she has overcome health issues, is happy, and has a positive outlook. She says that her life has been forever transformed.
