BSV Network was attacked by block reorganization attempts on June 24th, and again on July 1st, 6th and 9th by a malicious attacker using the handle "Zulupool". However, no coins were stolen or double-spended during the attacks.

Is the BSV network being attacked again less than a month following these BSV attacks? Yes, it is. It isn't that easy. Block reorganization is used by the current BSV attacks to double-spend BSV coins. This is a natural occurrence when using the blockchain to align participants and nodes.

When used to commit fraud, such as double spending, block reorganization can be malicious. It appears, just like the previous series of malicious attacks that it was behind, that the same attacker is responsible. These attacks are being successfully fought by the BSV network. No BSV coins were double-spended.

According to Bitcoin Association, a global industry association based in Switzerland that promotes enterprise adoption of BSV blockchain technology, all three fraudulent chains were successfully repulsed on August 5, at 9:30 AM (GMT+1).

The Bitcoin Association and BSV Infrastructure Team advise node operators to stop these malicious attacks and prevent double-spend by running the following commands:

The Bitcoin SV Infrastructure Team and the Bitcoin Association continue to monitor the situation. However, it is critical that infrastructure providers and ecosystem partners continue invalidating illegal forked chains to protect users and the network. The Association stated that these best practices should be followed by exchanges whenever fraud chains with double-spend transactions are detected.
