The Internet of Things is just one of many changes that are inevitable in the digital age. The authors outline key factors that can help businesses thrive in an IoT-driven marketplace. They also ask the question: Will you be participating or leading?

It is currently the midst of a fierce battle for your home. Which company will lead the Internet of Things network for your smart home? Phillips and Flux make IoT enabled light bulbs. Motorola and Belkin make connected cameras. Honeywell and Nest offer IoT-enabled environmental management and many other services. IoT TVs and locks are available from Sony and Vizio, as well as IoT-enabled televisions and IoT-enabled everything else. What enterprise can you trust to coordinate all these assets and associated data from one app on your mobile device? This enterprise will most likely manage the IoT network at your home. They can also see your data. You can see that both a traditional company and a new player are competing for leadership in the above examples. This is more digital disruption. Apple Home Kit is a smart home management tool that will coordinate your home, so it's not surprising. What about Amazon Alexa and Microsoft Cortana and Google Home? All these companies are vying for control of your smart home and leading the IoT network.

The battle for who will lead IoT networks will be fought in every commercial setting, both B2B or B2C. Our study examined the factors that lead to new revenue generation with an IoT strategy in 400+ companies around the world. It takes a strong commitment in IoT in four areas to achieve success. The results are amazing. The top quartile of IoT-committed enterprises had strong new growth, averaging 50% of their revenues from new products in the past three years. This paper explains what distinguishes IoT success - the four areas in which enterprises have committed to IoT and outperformed their competition.

How to succeed with IoT

We feel that IoT is at the top of its hype cycle. Next comes the difficult task of committing to maximizing the new opportunities. This affects every department of the company. Schneider Electric, which was founded in iron and steel production, has transformed to become a global leader of energy management. In 2009, Schneider Electric changed its strategic focus from being a distributor and manufacturer of electrical products to one that is a provider of intelligent energy management solutions. Schneider's offerings are customized from a customer perspective and include sensors, storage power, processing power, displays and various types of network connections. This allows them to deliver an energy solution. These systems continuously monitor the environment and detect any changes or faults and take appropriate action.

We surveyed 413 senior executives from both B2B as B2C companies to find out what it takes for IoT success. There is a strong correlation between enterprise commitment to IoT, and the generation new business revenue. Schneider is an example of this: commitment extends across all areas of Schneider including new vision, new revenue sources, new connectedness levels and technical capabilities, new customer offerings, new levels and levels of integration between silos, and willingness to lead change.

To help its business units engage with customers more digitally, the company created a series of customer "journeys".

Figure 1 illustrates the stark contrast between IoT-focused enterprises and those that aren't. The blue ellipse in the chart shows a cluster. These companies have made significant investments in IoT (70 % or more) and generated between 60 and 90% of their revenue from new products and services over the past three years. The enterprises at the bottom (grey ellipse) have a lower commitment to IoT (40% and lower) and only 10% of their revenues are generated by new products or services. It is striking to see how strong the relationship between IoT commitment and new revenue is. The higher the commitment to IoT, the greater the innovation growth. For simplicity, we only show manufacturing firms, but the results are the same across all industries.

Get regular checkups. Your doctor will keep track of your medical history so that you can stay healthy. If you are at high risk of osteoporosis (a condition that weakens bones), your doctor may recommend more vitamin D and calcium.


You may be recommended by your doctor to have screening tests done to monitor your health and detect conditions before they become serious.


Be open to communication. Meng said, "If you have any questions, ask your doctor." "Ensure you are satisfied with the information." Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about any medication or procedure.


Reduce Stress

It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.

Deep breathing

Meditation

Yoga

Massage

Exercise

Healthy eating

Talking to a friend or family member.

Develop healthy habits

You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.


Brush your teeth twice daily and floss each day.

Don't smoke.

Limit your alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1 drink per day.

Take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.

Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wear your seatbelt.

Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.


Montgomery was able to see the benefits. Montgomery says that she has overcome health issues, is happy, and has a positive outlook. She says that her life has been forever transformed.
