Since 1981, I have been a master plumber.
Since 1981, I have been a master plumber. It's an interesting and challenging three-dimensional task to install drain, wastewater, vent (DWV), piping in a new house or large remodel job. As the lead carpenter/builder for my projects, I was able think ahead and ensure all framing was in place so that the pipes could be installed without any need to be cut.
Amanda, a South Carolina resident, reached out to my office two weeks ago. She wanted to know how she could make money off the plumber who installed the drain pipes at her house. Amanda received bad advice from another plumber or remodeler, who said that a toilet drain pipe was not correctly installed by the original plumber.
Amanda hired a plumber to remove the pipes and put in newer, more delicate bends. It's a shame that she spent so much money. She could have spent $50 less and just called me to check if I was giving her good advice. However, that's just water over the dam.
You'll find this exact layout in millions of buildings and houses across the United States if you remove the plaster and drywall. Since the early 1900s, plumbers have been using tee fittings. They still do so today. This exact configuration was actually what I used two years ago to record my video on flushable wipes.
The vertical pipe that runs from the bottom of the tee fitting to the top is often a vertical stack. The pipe could be between 8 and 9 feet high. A plumbing stack is like a chimney. As smoke rises up a chimney, wastewater flows down the stack.
A sweep 90 fitting is a good choice for the bottom of stacks. These fittings are slightly wider than the 90 fitting. This is a great advantage for drain-cleaning snakes. This is precisely why plumbers use sweep-90 fittings for over a decade.
Amanda may have misunderstood or not understood the plumber's advice. Any change-of-direction fittings that are buried beneath a slab shouldn't have any 90-degree fittings. Two 45-degree fittings are required if you have to change direction in concrete or under other buried pipe conditions, such as a sewer line. If possible, it is a good idea to remove the 45-degree fittings at least 6 inches. This can be used to clean drain-cleaning snakes.
A 90-degree fitting can be installed under a slab. However, it must be at the base or under a toilet on a slab. It's possible to fix a clog in these two places by either installing a clean-out tie just above the base or taking out the toilet to inspect and repair the 90-degree fitting.

Flexibility is key to eating well, according to Joyce Meng, MD assistant professor at UConn Health's Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center. You can follow a strict diet plan if you prefer. It's okay if you don't like following a strict diet plan.
Tricia Montgomery (52), founder of K9 Fit Club knows firsthand the benefits of a healthy diet and lifestyle. Her favorite things are eating healthy food and making small, frequent meals. She says, "I don’t deny myself anything." "I still enjoy dessert, key lime pie, yum!" -- I love frozen gummy bears and moderation is the key.
Get regular checkups. Your doctor will keep track of your medical history so that you can stay healthy. If you are at high risk of osteoporosis (a condition that weakens bones), your doctor may recommend more vitamin D and calcium.
You may be recommended by your doctor to have screening tests done to monitor your health and detect conditions before they become serious.
Be open to communication. Meng said, "If you have any questions, ask your doctor." "Ensure you are satisfied with the information." Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about any medication or procedure.
It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.
To relieve stress, try:
Talking to a friend or family member.
Develop healthy habits
You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.
Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Wear your seatbelt.
Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.
