It is crucial to look seriously at the future in these times of turmoil and make a decision about the future for our children and future generations.
Two threats/challenges might be facing humanity in the future. The "Danger Zone" is the first group of potential challenges. This includes themes such as the degradation of the environment (climate changes), social unrest, migration and diversity, the COVID-19 pandemic (Raich & Dolan 2008), and violent political conflicts (Raich & Dolan 2008).1 The second group can be centered around the rapid and often disruptive advancement of AI technology.
Already the Danger Zone, and AI technology, are transforming our lives. They will most likely have greater impacts on the future work environment. Although the coronavirus pandemic can be controlled in the coming years, it is likely that we will not cross the danger zone until the middle of the century. We will need all the help we can get to do so. AI technology could be part of the solution.
However, there are still many questions about AI challenges. What will happen to the workforce? What will the interface look like for people using this new technology? Automation will replace most jobs. Are there new jobs? What will AI do to reinvent the economy, work, and business?
Although it is easy to explain, the human/AI technology collaboration can be difficult to implement. This requires continuous investment in both AI-based technology development and human uniqueness development.
Many of these questions concern the role of individuals in the future. This article presents a comprehensive view of the complex, dynamic, and constantly changing "human uniqueness" by comparing it with AI-based technology. Intelligent collaboration between humans and machines is what we envision. This will result in collaboration of Super-Minds with AI-based smart machines in a Meta Mind-Society in an indeterminate future (Raich and al., 2019).
Although it is easy to explain, the human/AI technology collaboration can be difficult to implement. This requires a lifetime education to ensure smart machines are able to connect with smarter people by finding synergy between technology and people. As digital (AI), smart machines rapidly evolve, it is important to find synergy between people with technology. People need to keep up and learn.
