Our economy is being transformed by the information revolution.  Its effects are not to be missed by any company.  The way we do business is changing dramatically due to dramatic reductions in the costs of obtaining, processing and transmitting information.

General managers are well aware that there is a revolution underway and many acknowledge its importance. Executives are becoming more aware that information technology is not just the domain of IS or EDP departments. These executives realize the importance of being involved in the management and development of new technology as they watch their competitors use it for competitive advantage. They don't know what to do in the face of rapid changes.

This article is designed to assist general managers in addressing the new challenges presented by the information revolution. What will the impact of information technology on competition and sources of competitive advantage? To exploit this technology, what strategies should a company follow? What are the consequences of taking actions that others may have already taken? Which are the most pressing opportunities to invest in information technology?

Managers must understand that information technology goes beyond computers to answer these questions. Information technology today must be understood broadly in order to include the information created and used by businesses as well as the wide range of connected and convergent technologies that process that information. Data recognition equipment, communication technologies, factory automation, as well as other hardware and services, are all involved.

Strategic Significance

Information technology is changing how companies work. It has a profound impact on the way companies create products. It is also reshaping product: The entire package of goods, services and information that companies offer to create value for customers.

Transforming the value-chain

Information technology is permeating every stage of the value chain, changing the way value activities are conducted and the nature the links between them.  It is also changing the way products are designed to meet buyer requirements and improving competitive scope.  These are the basic reasons information technology is so important and different from other technologies that businesses use.

Transformation of the product

Many products have always included both a physical component and an information one.  The information component, which is generally defined as everything the buyer must know in order to purchase the product and use it to achieve their desired results, is the latter.  This means that a product contains information about its features and how it should work and be supported.  In consumer appliances, this is a key buyer criterion. For instance, it is important to have easy access to information about maintenance and other service procedures.

Direction and pace of change

While there is a tendency to increase information in products and companies, it is not obvious that technology plays a significant role in every industry.  For example, banking and insurance have been information-intensive industries for a long time.  These industries were among the first to embrace data processing.  However, the dominance of physical processing will remain in industries like cement despite increasing information processing.

You may be recommended by your doctor to have screening tests done to monitor your health and detect conditions before they become serious.


Be open to communication. Meng said, "If you have any questions, ask your doctor." "Ensure you are satisfied with the information." Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about any medication or procedure.


Reduce Stress

It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.

Deep breathing

Meditation

Yoga

Massage

Exercise

Healthy eating

Talking to a friend or family member.

Develop healthy habits

You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.


Brush your teeth twice daily and floss each day.

Don't smoke.

Limit your alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1 drink per day.

Take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.

Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wear your seatbelt.

Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.


Montgomery was able to see the benefits. Montgomery says that she has overcome health issues, is happy, and has a positive outlook. She says that her life has been forever transformed.
