One thing that we have all learned in the past few months is that technology is constantly changing. AI and Machine Learning make new things possible at every turn and every industry is joining the action. Fashion has had to deal with serious issues in order to showcase their latest collections in a safe and COVID-secure manner while still allowing potential customers to see them in all their splendor.

Innovation is actually transforming technology. Technology is in turn transforming fashion to meet changing customer needs.

Get to know your customers

Brands can easily lose sight of what is most important. Customers should be at heart of all decisions and should drive the positive effects that technology and data analytics have on fashion buying.

Even technology that seems simple can be supported by powerful machine learning algorithms. This allows customers to only receive the size and fit recommendation that they actually seek. Then, their answers can inform (privately), the data-driven solution that will help customers with similar fit preferences.

Improving Sustainability Standards

We have been making clothes for millennia as a species. Over the centuries, we have discovered new ways to make clothes last for centuries.

Technology has made clothes more comfortable. It is evident that it has improved the dying process, which still dumps hundreds of tonnes of waste into the ocean each year, and the production of fabric sheets that can be sewn into clothing.

Even better, there are initiatives that recycle the clothes people throw away and make new and useful garments.

Reducing carbon emissions and improving the process of dying and clothing production will make our planet a better place. Brands that support eco-friendly initiatives will have a higher reputation, which will lead to increased sales and conversions. 

Getting Promos Right

Many people carry a camera, no matter how expensive or simple.

The constant connection is good for some people, but for others it can be problematic. This is especially true with the rise in influencer power over fashion buyers around the world.

Some smart retailers have teamed up with industry experts to promote their stock. However, there are serious concerns about whether influencers are legitimate. There are also signs that young adults, who will be the majority of the purchasing power in five years, are becoming more aware of the money-making potential of influencers.

Augmented Reality

This is a fascinating topic that isn't often discussed enough. However, augmented reality could have a significant impact on fashion retailers if they accept the offer while it is still available.

Google announced an important update to its augmented Reality platform at this year's I/O and teased an update that will let people create avatars and view themselves in augmented realities through their smartphones.

This is a great opportunity for fashion retailers to offer virtual fitting rooms. The user can scan their whole body to create a virtual bust, which allows them to try on all the clothes that they have for sale.

This technology was very promising at Google's I/ Developer Conference. However, it is still in its infancy, and likely to fail.

Tracking and Supply Chain Updates

Supply chain technologies are the last thing we will discuss (and this is by no means an exhaustive list).

There are many technologies that can help you get your product to your customers. However, with the advancements in supply chain technology you can track and update every minute of your customer's movements, so you know if they actually collected the item.

Reduce Stress

It can be very detrimental to your health. It is impossible to avoid it all, but there are ways you can reduce the effects. Do not take on too many responsibilities. Set limits for yourself and others. It is okay to say no.

Deep breathing

Meditation

Yoga

Massage

Exercise

Healthy eating

Talking to a friend or family member.

Develop healthy habits

You can prevent problems from coming your way tomorrow if you make the right decisions today.


Brush your teeth twice daily and floss each day.

Don't smoke.

Limit your alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1 drink per day.

Take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Get better sleep. Try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping.

Keep out of direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wear your seatbelt.

Meng suggests that you take time each day to invest in your own health.


Montgomery was able to see the benefits. Montgomery says that she has overcome health issues, is happy, and has a positive outlook. She says that her life has been forever transformed.
