We believe that bold, new concepts and ideas are needed and not just to change existing terminologies. It is time to call for a new management approach. The new management framework is based on strategic planning as it plays an important role in managing success. The strategic planning process needs to be redesigned so that it is dynamic and involves 'planning through interactive action processes'. This dynamic approach would allow performance reviews to embed value creation concepts. This makes the direction an active part and can be reshaped as needed. It is important to understand why you chose the direction and how to get there.

The chosen direction can often be more like a guiding star rather than a road map. This helps to create a dynamic allocation of resources and means that is necessary to follow the chosen direction. This would include providing constructive feedback on the feasibility of the chosen direction. This way, the chosen direction is what defines the future and the action is what creates it. Action is oriented towards the present and is therefore always future-oriented.

This pull strategy can be applied to all core management processes including strategy planning, development, and implementation. Our pull strategy is slightly different from traditional pull strategies. This pull strategy is called smart strategy because it covers all three phases of development, planning, implementation, and linking theory and practice. Smart strategy can also be applied to corporate governance, resource allocation and performance management, corporate structure development, talent development, deployment, and all other management processes. This paper is primarily focused on smart strategy. Leaders may benefit from a simplified, efficient and cost-effective way to develop and deploy'strategy. It could allow for a simultaneous bidirectional influence on the development and deployment of actions.
