RPoW is a key milestone in the history of cryptocurrency. Satoshi Nakamoto, an individual or group claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, submitted a whitepaper to a cryptography mailinglist in late 2008. It described a decentralised peer-to-peer electronic cash system called Bitcoin. Double spending security in Bitcoin was provided by a peer-to-peer protocol that monitors and validates transactions. It is based on the Hashcash Proof of Work algorithm. This protocol does not rely on a hardware trusted computing function such as the RPoW. Individual miners "mine Bitcoins" for a reward by using the proof_of_work process. This is then validated by decentralized nodes within the network.
